DallasChocolate.org is the organization that keeps us all choco-educated, and indulges our sweet tooth. (Because, well, we are pretty cuckoo about cocoa). Sander Wolf is an IT professional who became the founder of DallasChocolate.org to educate people about chocolate. Dallas Chocolate Festival, held annually, brings together the best chocolatiers and chocolate makers in the area to showcase the latest innovations and delights of the chocolate industry. They also offer classes that teach about chocolate tasting and cooking.
The Dallas Chocolate Festival is made up of three parts: a pre-party and the main festival/conference. There are also workshops. In a comfortable air-conditioned atmosphere of wall-to wall chocolate, where artisans showcase their latest creations and guests can interact with trade professionals, they are able meet chefs, taste a variety of chocolates and interact in a relaxed setting. This indoor summer festival offers a huge selection of handcrafted chocolates. The event offers attendees the chance to sample a variety of treats, from exotic and elegant to those we can eat everyday. Optional classes (some free) are available for ticket holders to learn more on the history and uses of fine chocolate. Topics range from pairing chocolates to processing. The roundtable discussions and audience questions with chocolate makers and chocolatiers from all over the country, a virtual who's-who of the industry, offer valuable insights. Vendors spend time discussing products, backgrounds and specialties as well as their personal preferences and the types of chocolate they enjoy most. Kevin Wenzel, of Wiseman House Chocolates says that adventure is key to discovering new tastes and ideas.
